How to separate frozen burgers
By Lutefisk
Avoid burger related injuries and dismemberment!
Who doesn't enjoy a cheap frozen burger from time to time? I always feel better with a block of frozen burgers in my freezer, ready at a moment's notice to satisfy a craving for greasy perfection. But how to get them separated without firing up a jack hammer or risk losing a finger? I have the solution!
Together forever?
Here they are. But before you can fry, grill, broil, Foreman, or poach any of these babies, you have to get them apart. A google of "separating frozen burgers" presents us with hundreds of stories about trips to the emergency room while trying to get these apart with a sharp knife. Thawing them under running water or in the microwave subjects the burgers you're not interested in to repeated trauma. So how do you do it?
The technique
Lay your stack of burgers on its side on a cutting surface. Then grab your chefs knife and place the sharp edge between an end-burger and a #2 from the end burger:
Voila
I hope this is useful for you! Now it's time for my burger.
